Birth date:
November 27, 1976
Instrument/role in band:
Drummer
Brief testimony:
God woke me up at a house party when I was 19 years old. I was playing in a secular band and the Lord stripped me of my ability to play that night. It was a massive wake-up call that really can't be explained in words, and I felt that it was my last chance to get right with Him. If you ever meet me, feel free to ask me in person--but it will take a while! Needless to say, on that night, my Lord Jesus started His good work in me, and is still changing me today.

Brief Bio:
Born and raised in Den Bosch, Holland. I came from a very musical family. My dad plays guitar, drums and sings and my mom plays everything. They are very supportive of my musical career. My family is loud when it comes to family get-togethers--like chickens with their heads cut off. Even with the ´ups and downs that we've all had in our lives, in my family, God has always been the center. I'm blessed to be a part of the family God placed me in.
How did you begin doing music?:
It started when I was about three years old. My dad used to be a pharmacist and he'd bring home these cylinder shaped boxes that I would turn into drums. They came in different shapes and sizes so each one could be used as a different tom to complete my home made drum kit.
What is the most valuable lesson that you learned from your Mom and Dad growing up, that you still apply today?:
Well, I won't say that my parents used this phrase as a scare tactic to get me to go to church but it was simply true. My mom told me one day when I was about four that "we are not going to heaven as a family." In other words, it's up to you to work out your salvation and get your relationship in a right standing with God. I say this to say, a lot of people think that they're simply gonna waltz into heaven without the free gift of salvation. This is simply not the case.
What were the last 5 CDs that you put in your disc changer?:
DONALD FAGEN NIGHTFLY - THE ROOTS PHRENOLOGY STEVE LUKATHER CANDY MAN - DOULOS LOVE 'EM ANYWAY - N.E.R.D. FLY OR DIE
What Bible character do you most identify yourself with?:
David although unnoticed and to many just a shepherd boy, he was a dangerous and God fearing young man. I feel that way a lot. With all of the trials and many things that come against me, I understand that it's clearly the building of my faith and strength as a man which all tie into the visions and plans God has in-store for me personally. Similar, yet different from David's circumstances.
What goes through your mind before you go on-stage at the average show?:
First and foremost, I won't go on stage without praying. I have learned time and time again, that the best way to ruin a show is to ignore God from the start. "Praise God" and "thank You Lord." "Flow through us." These are continual prayers that fill my thoughts. I don't think much about anything else other than what needs to be done and the things to pray for.
and the webmaster says "Amen"...
Why do you do music? What is your primary goal?:
First, God has given this talent to me to use it. The goal is clear; get people into heaven. With music, (and what a wonderful blessing it is), you can come at people from different angles and hit them all with the same message. It's amazing how creative you can be and how like Paul, I can "Become all things to all men," so that by all means necessary I may "win some." Whether it be rock, reggae, hiphop, funk, jazz, etc...The same principle applies when it comes to the art-form of music.
What kind of gear do you play on?:
I use DW Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, A Customs and K's, and Regal Tip Drum Sticks.
