Brief Bio:
I am a daughter of the late Garfield Blackman (Ras Shorty I) and Claudette Blackman, I am from the Southeastern Caribbean island of Trinidad. For most of my life I lived in a remote part of the jungle in Piparo with a LARGE family of 23 brothers and sisters. I was raised in music. My father was a famous calypsonian and the inventor of Soca music and Jamoo (Jehovah's Music). Frustrated with the politics of his own band he came home one day from tour and told us (his children) that we were going to be his backing band--we were really excited about this! He called us "The Love Circle." I started off singing chorus as a very young child. I love singing and started performing solos before thousands and live on national television at the age of four. Eventually I was promoted to the position of bassist when one of my older sisters moved away. At the age of 17 I started my own clothing line called "Jamoo Designs." I started playing bass with Christafari during the demo stages of the Gravity album.

Seeing new place's. I enjoy knowing that I'm doing this for God. Hanging with the band member's they are my best friends!
What goes through your mind before you go onstage at the average show?:
That someone would be saved, or be encouraged in their spiritual walk. I also pray to God that I will play well--which make's me a bit anxious.
Why do you do music? What is your primary goal?:
Because It's in my blood--running through my veins and in my soul. Because it's so much apart of me, I choose to do it for a higher purpose--that purpose is God.
Question-What kind of gear do you play on?:
I play a five string Steinberger Spirit bass. I use only flat wound D'Addario strings. I use Ampeg amplification and Monster cables with an Aphex bass exciter..
